Chris Browne is the Global Visual Effects Supervisor for Sony Pictures Animation and a highly respected figure in the industry.
He previously served as Studio Wide Visual Effects Supervisor at DreamWorks and Head of CG at Bardel Entertainment, one of Canada’s largest studios.
Chris is also the founder of Digital Alchemy Entertainment, where he led a team of 40 artists on diverse visual effects projects over 9 years.
An award-winning filmmaker, Chris’s independent films have been selected for top international festivals across North America and Europe. He’s an Annie Award nominee and a multiple Leo Award winner, recently earning a Leo for Best Visual Effects for a film where he single-handedly completed 200 VFX shots, surpassing major studio-backed productions.
Chris is a sought-after speaker at major events like San Diego Comic-Con, Visual Effects Society (VES), AFC, CTN and the Spark CG Conference, where he shares his innovative approach to visual effects and filmmaking.
His work has been featured in leading industry publications, including AWN, Animation Magazine, Before and Afters, and Visual Effects World Network.

At Bardel Ent, Chris supervised all CGI Productions studio wide, including series and feature films, with a staff of over 700 people.
Chris has hands on experience as a visual effects supervisor, visual effects artist, lighting and comp artist, and cg supervisor. He built pipelines, programming in python, creative supervision and critiquing of artists work. He has done hands on Look Dev tests for clients and winning contracts.
As a hands on artist, Chris is an experienced live action Visual Effects Artist, Director, CG Supervisor, and Visual Effects Supervisor.
Chris directed projects for Television, Commercials, and award winning shorts which received official selection and awards in dozens of international film festivals.
